Matcha Overnight Oats (Print Version)

A creamy blend of matcha and oats prepared the night before for effortless mornings.

# What You Need:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup rolled oats
02 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds
03 - 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
04 - 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
05 - 1 ¼ cups milk (dairy or plant-based)

→ Toppings

06 - ½ banana, sliced
07 - 1 tablespoon toasted coconut flakes
08 - 1 tablespoon chopped almonds or pistachios
09 - Fresh berries

# How To Make It:

01 - Whisk together the milk and matcha powder in a medium bowl or jar until smooth and fully dissolved, ensuring no lumps remain.
02 - Add rolled oats, chia seeds, and honey or maple syrup to the matcha milk. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
03 - Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, allowing oats to absorb liquid and achieve creamy texture.
04 - Stir the oats in the morning. Add a splash of milk if thinner consistency is preferred.
05 - Divide between serving bowls or jars. Top with sliced banana, toasted coconut flakes, chopped nuts, and fresh berries as desired.

# Handy Tips:

01 -
  • You will feel incredibly virtuous starting your day with something this vibrant and antioxidant rich
  • The overnight prep means you can have a gourmet breakfast without turning on the stove or setting an alarm earlier
02 -
  • Matcha can turn bitter if you use water that is too hot, but since we are using cold milk here this is not an issue
  • The chia seeds will continue absorbing liquid, so if you are making these more than 24 hours ahead you might want an extra splash of milk
03 -
  • Toast your coconut and nuts in advance for maximum flavor impact
  • If your matcha has clumped in storage, sift it before adding to the milk for the smoothest result
