Try this delicious cake recipe:

Peel, core and coarsely grate the apples, leaving a few apple slices for garnish. Heat half of the butter and sauté the grated apples in it, stirring. Deglaze with orange liqueur and juice of one lemon and season with black pepper. Mix the eggs, stir into the apples and fry. Cut the croissants and divide the amount evenly on the bottom half. Heat the remaining butter, toast the breadcrumbs in it until brown and spread evenly over the apple mixture. Cover the croissants with the tops and bring to the table with the apple slices.

Mix a little grated cheese or possibly sugar into the beaten eggs.
