Cut cheese into approx. 2.5 cm cubes and wrap them well in bacon (best to wrap 2 slices crosswise!). Heat a little fat in a frying pan (not too hot) and fry the cubes very briefly on both sides until golden brown. Drain bacon and cheese bites on paper towels, fix with toothpicks if necessary and serve on lettuce leaves.
