Instructions:

For the gingerbread cubes, first melt the margarine, honey and sugar over low heat.

When the mixture has cooled a bit, mix it with the remaining ingredients (preferably with a mixer).

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Spread the dough on the baking tray.

Place the cherries on the dough at regular intervals (about 5 x 5 cm squares should be cut out of the dough after baking) and arrange 4 almond slivers around the dough, pointing to the corners.

Whisk the egg white and water and brush the gingerbread with the mixture.

Place in the oven for about 30 minutes.

Cut the gingerbread into cubes after baking.

Preparation Tip:

If you want to save calories and fat, omit the almond slivers.
