Selkkaree chop rinse, dry and cut into cubes. Peel onions and cut into fine rings. Mix eggs and milk. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg (freshly grated). Finely grate the Gouda.

Heat oil in a large frying pan. Sear the meat cubes on all sides. Add onion rings and fry briefly, turning.

Place bread slices in a greased gratin dish (approx. 30 cm long) in a fan shape. Spread meat and onions evenly on top.

Pour egg milk over it and sprinkle with cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven 200 degrees, convection oven 175 degrees, gas mark 3) for 35-40 minutes. Remove the pile from the stove, garnish with marjoram if desired.
