For the elderberry-orange syrup, wash the elderflowers thoroughly and mix them with the sliced lemons, as well as the sugar, vanilla sugar, citric acid and water and put them in a container (no metal!).
Let the “liquid” stand for about 3-4 days. After the few days, squeeze the orange and add to the syrup. Then strain everything through a fine sieve or cloth and fill into bottles.
Diluted with water or mineral, the elderberry-orange syrup is a wonderful thirst quencher for the summer!
Preparation Tip:
Less is often more: Do not use too much essential ingredients in the elderberry-orange syrup, because the elderberry and the orange have a great flavor of their own.
