A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Beat egg yolks, sugar and butter until creamy. Add salt, lemon zest, cinnamon, rose oil and almond kernels. Sift the flour over it, folding in the snow exactly.

Pour half of the dough into the prepared mold (bottom of the cake). Spread the jam evenly over it, put the other half of the dough on top as a lid.

Bake in the heated oven (180 degrees ) in the medium heat for about 45 min. The cake should be nice and golden, not too brown.

(*) The recipe of the Fideriser Torte comes from a handwritten cookbook of your aunt. She worked as a cook in various guesthouses and inns in Latsch, Davos, Berguen, Pragg-Jenaz and Schiers. The recipes were recorded around 1930.
