For the nougat slices, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff, add 50 g sugar and continue beating until the snow is really firm again. Melt the butter with the nougat chocolate in a water bath.

Grease a square baking pan and preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Beat the yolks briefly, add the remaining sugar and beat until creamy.

Stir in the lukewarm chocolate-butter mixture. Mix flour with cocoa and baking powder and stir in. Finally, fold in beaten egg whites and nuts.

Spread the batter into the pan and bake for about 20-30 minutes. (Test with a stick!) Then let cool down well. Melt the nougat in a water bath.

Whip the whipped cream and carefully fold in the melted nougat. Spread on the cooled cake. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.

Preparation Tip:

The nougat slices are also particularly delicious sprinkled with brittle. So they also have something crunchy with it.
