Instructions:

For stuffed artichokes, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Hold the artichokes point down and bang them once against the edge of the table to make the leaves open more easily.

Remove the outer hard leaves and cut off the stems so the artichokes can stand. Trim the tips of the leaves 2 inches.

Mix well the bread crumbs, garlic, mint, nutmeg, salt, pepper and oil. Open the outer leaves of the artichokes and remove the inner purple leaves.

Scrape out the artichokes and fill them with the filling. Then press the leaves back together.

Place stuffed artichokes side by side in an ovenproof pot and add about 3 inches of water.

Cover stuffed artichokes and cook in oven at 180 degrees for one hour.
